THE MASUKU has high filtration capabilities, is hydrophobic, chemical-free, and durable.

FILTRATION

THE MASUKU has undergone rigorous testings by the Nelsons Laboratory, USA, achieving a Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE) of >99.8%, a Virus Filtration Efficiency (VFE) of >99.7%, and a Particle Filtration Efficiency (PFE) of >99.5%.

HYDROPHOBIC

THE MASUKU is hydrophobic - resistant to liquid pollutants and bacterial droplets.

OUR FABRIC

A special blend of poly-cotton fabric (outer layer), meltblown non-woven material (middle layer), waffle-pattern fabric (inner layer), and Ultra-Thin Filter Technology has been formulated and uniquely bonded together to ensure that THE MASUKU is hydrophobic with excellent filtration capabilities, while providing increased breathability and increased reusability for the user.

All fabrics used for THE MASUKU have been tested for colour fastness to ensure that their colour does not run and they maintain a high level of durability even after washing.

CHEMICAL - FREE

Many fabric masks are treated with heavy chemicals to enhance or attach various properties. They often require detergent to clean, which may do more harm than good.

“Some people may be allergic to dyes or the detergent they use to wash their cotton mask,”

explains Noelani E. Gonzalez¹, a dermatologist and director of cosmetic dermatology at Mount Sinai West in New York. As your face is more sensitive, the chemicals in these masks can cause skin irritation or outbreaks.

THE MASUKU is free from heavy chemicals and uses a tightly-woven blend of fabrics to create a more comfortable, more sophisticated barrier against contaminants.

DURABILITY & REUSABILITY

THE MASUKU is more environmentally-friendly as it can be reused again with the replaceable filter.

The 3-layered mask itself has filtration capabilities better than the run-of-the-mill cloth masks, even after rinsing - maintaining an effective Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE).

For best results, you should hand wash your mask with gentle soap and cold or room temperature water to maintain a higher filtration effectiveness of THE MASUKU for a longer period of time. You may also change THE MASUKU FILTERS for better filtration capabilities.

The structure and colour of THE MASUKU remains unchanged.
